Hi, it's me - Alina

My name is Alina Matvieieva!
Nice to meet you!

A product designer who's dedicated to creating designs that solve real people's problems, are easy to use, and, whenever possible, bring a touch of joy to the digital world.

I discovered interface design while studying program engineering at university. Learning how to develop software, made me think about how people interact with software. My curiosity led me to pursuing UX.

I am from Kyiv, Ukraine. Currently based in Malta

For the past two years, I've been living and working in Malta - yes, that little island in the Mediterranean.

Random facts about me

A few years ago I started playing games on my Nintendo Switch

So far, my favorite games are Zelda (BOTW and TOTK), Mario Kart (though I'm bad at it) and Boomerang Fu. I usually play these games with friends rather than on my own, with rare exceptions.

For about a year, I was into brewing kombucha

My most successful flavors were pomegranate and mint plum. While most of my kombucha tastings at the office were free, I did manage to sell a few bottles!

I’ve also had phases where I was into indoor plants, drawing with acrylics, making collages, and brewing specialty coffee

While I still enjoy these hobbies occasionally, they’re no longer obsessions.

While living in Malta, I was all about hiking in the winter and snorkeling in the summer

Exploring the underwater world, chasing schools of fish, or having a snack by the sea after a good hike - this is what I call quality time spent in Malta.
